Are masks required while dancing outdoors?
As we venture outdoors to attend organized dances, it is important to understand the policy on wearing masks.
Regardless of ones personal belief on the importance of wearing masks, or personal opinion on masks as a 'political' vehicle, it needs to be understood that, for dance events, wearing a mask outdoors is a legal issue.
PA and NJ Executive Orders make it clear that, with very specific exceptions, masks are required when social distancing cannot be maintained. This is the law. Organizers of these dance events can face heavy fines if these mask orders are not followed.
If you attend an event, please bring a mask. If you are dancing AND maintaining a 6' social distance from others, outside of your household, you do not need to wear a mask.
You must wear a mask interacting, passing, approaching, or sitting with others not in your household.
Couples/Partners dances should not dance without masks unless your partner lives in your household or is your romantic partner.
If you feel you cannot wear a mask due to personal health concerns and you are unable to remain socially distant, please do not attend.
If you exhibiting any symptoms and/or you have a fever, please stay home.
